Dr. Swankin is Retiring

By News

The doctors and staff at Wayland Animal Clinic are deeply sad to announce that Dr. Sheryl Swankin has made the decision to retire from veterinary medicine in mid-July.  We are a family here at WAC and, although she will remain a big part of our lives, we will miss spending time with her day after day.  Sheryl has had  an immense impact on this hospital, supporting her co-workers, listening to her clients with endless compassion, and practicing her medicine with an impressive intuitive understanding of what her patients need.  We know her clients and patients will be equally sorry to see her go.  Still, we support her decision and wish her the very best in her new life adventure. Please take a moment to read this letter that Dr. Swankin asked us to share with you:

A Letter from Dr. Sheryl Swankin

To my Dear Clients,

After a long and hard period of soul searching, I have decided to retire from practicing veterinary medicine. Know that I do so with mixed emotions. While I am very excited to explore the next chapter in my life, I am also very sad to be saying goodbye. My last day will be July 15, 2017.

I will be leaving you in the very capable and compassionate hands of the other doctors, technicians and receptionists at Wayland Animal Clinic. Between now and my retirement date, I will be happy to assist you in making your transition to another of our veterinarians as smooth as possible.

It has been an honor and a pleasure to be a part of your lives for all these years. I wish your families, both two and four legged members, all the best in health and happiness. My relationships with all my clients, patients and co-workers is what has made this profession so special to me. I appreciate your loyalty throughout the years, and the memories of all that I have experienced over these past four decades will always be with me.

Sincerely,

Sheryl R Swankin, D.V.M.
