To get the most out of your pet’s first visit with your veterinarian, we’ve put together this checklist for all new patients of Wayland Animal Clinic:
Paperwork
By the time you get your appointment reminder you should have already provided Wayland Animal Clinic with all the paperwork you were given from your breeder, past veterinarian, or shelter. If you have received new or additional information, please send that to wacinfo@waylandanimalclinic.com as soon as possible.
Stool Sample
Bring a fresh stool sample (<24 hours if kept at room temperature or refrigerated)
Fecals are important because they enable veterinarians to determine if your pet has intestinal parasites such as roundworms, whipworms, coccidia, and giardia.
Medications
Bring a list of all medications that your pet is currently taking (including doses and frequency) Feel free to bring in the boxes/bottles/vials if easier.
Restraint
For safety, please bring your pet in a closed carrier or leash as appropriate.
